RE: I give up!!
Frank I have played a bit with the prolate and paper patching at 200m in a .38-55 and a .38-50. They seem to shoot very well. I've read somewhere that the elliptical nose profile is exceptionally good at subsonic velocities whereas I believe the Money bullet was optimized for slightly higher velocities.

The Money bullet is really a tangential ogive with a hemispherical tip so it shouldn't be too much trouble to reverse engineer the curves. There are also the differences in the PJ vs. BACO nose diameters. I have a few of the drawings of the bullet around. The BACO versions seem to shoot pretty well paper patched.

Chris.

Kurt now I'm wondering about the viability of the Brooks postell in a 500 gr slick at .434 for use in the 44 2.4 when they get done?

I would think that it should shoot pretty good. It would take maybe a 1/2 turn more on the elevation idiot knob. I dont have a slick with that nose profile for the .44.
I wouldn't worry too much about the weight. It's the length that has to be watched. The elliptical and the postell slick can be both the same length and diameter but the postell will weigh a lot more.

Just out of curiosity I will load some of those greaser .44 MB in the .44-100 by running them through the sizing die a little till they chamber and shoot them through the 1/17 ROT.
Sure hate to think about leading that bore up in that rifle.

Yes might be a real crime to contaminate that barrel with a naked bullet...
