45 Core Mold
Started to build a 45 core mold for my Corbin Swage! I had a chunk if 3/4 x 3/4 key stock laying around that fit the bill, plus it was free!

I forgot to add! I think I messed up by only putting in one dowel pin! I might add 1/8th inch dowel in the top of the mold! Sad

RE: 45 Core Mold
Finished the core mold tonight! I will fire up the lead pot tomorrow and see if she casts! Next time I will use a bigger chunk of steel, 3/4 x 3/4 is to small for a 45 mold!

RE: 45 Core Mold
Core mold worked great! Cast weight was 507 grains, swage weight was at 497 grains! I was shooting for a finished bullet weight of
500 grains!

I did not cut any vent lines in the mold, I basically left one side of the mold with end mill marks! I was trying to duplicate what Winchester molds had!

RE: 45 Core Mold
Looks like a good setup. Now the question.... How does it shoot?

Well Don it shot great a few years back! Killed an antelope and a deer with it! I even shot a 3 shot 5/8" group at a 100 yards with this bullet with barrel sights!
