That backlog is why I played around some and just made up a bushing die to play with to start. I can neck the cased down in one shot but have other bushings If I feel I need to do things in smaller steps. Since the case is so much shorter I did pick up a case trimmer set up that is to be used in the drill press or mill. It does same a lot of time taking that much off of the length of the cases. Only thing I need to figure out when it comes time to fire form the cases is how much they will shorten when fire formed.

Sam,

What are you using for case dimensions for your .44-60 experiment?

Going to a .44-60, of sorts, has more appeal to me than other ideas I've had for this roller and barrel.

Taking from what my cartridge conversion book shows for the .44-60 Sharps BN and adding in dimensions if you made it from .45-70 cases it looks very doable.

The shoulder is 11.31 degrees.

I have 2 different prints, one from Dave Manson and one from PT&G. I will dig them both up and post them. The big difference I see in the 2 is the neck diameter. I also had Dave change the throat so that its a taper from the case mouth OD to the bore and most likely that is the design I will go with. His has a larger neck diameter and that will just let me use GG bullets as well as PP. I would like to avoid having to ream the inside neck diameter to be able to use GG bullets if I can.
