RE: It's been quiet here
Steve,

There have been a few people saying it's taking a long time to get on the Shiloh forum. You could call and ask what's up with that. They do seem to be having a problem approving people, they may not be aware of it.

As for as the picture, this is an old thread and I don't think all the pictures made it through from the old site. They don't show on this thread for me here either, but did on the old place. Progress ain't all good all the time!

Marcus thinks he has all the old pictures and stuff saved to this new software, and sometime after valentines day he's going to take another run at trying to restore everything the way it was. Basement dwellers in unknown places can sure raise cain with stuff, but with enough patience and percerverance it can gradually get undone, altho the ones that screwed things up will flat out tell you , we didn't do anything.....
Hang in there, the new hosting outfit is paid in full for 3 years.

Don,

I'm sure things will be fine and if not this is still a great site and we'll take what get and move on. If I hadn't been through this sort of thing a few times over the years with my Distant Thunder website I might be less patient, but I've been there and things like that don't bother me as much as they did when I was younger. It will all work out in the end.

We did come very close to just going ahead and pulling the pin on it, but finally things started coming together, and boom, here we are again.

RE: It's been quiet here
Don, Thanks for having me.

I retired a few years ago and moved to Montana from Texas. I had been looking for some nice land for several years making trips to Wyoming and Montana. I finally bough some land a little South of Forsyth. When I was getting ready to move one of my friends at a local F-class match asked me where I was moving to in Montana. He new the are well and told me I need to check out the Quigley match. As It turned out my neighbor has a Sharps and asked me if I want to go check it out and grab a burger there. I said sure. I had never messed with BP before but always loved the looks of the Sharps Rifles (You know except the Borchart rifles lol.) Any way I love shooting long ranges and was admiring all the nice rifles. We watch for a while and then had a burger. A $4000 burger..... the burger was actually only $10 or so but I had to factor in the cost of the new Sharps... Since then we went in and bought swaging equipment to make the best bullets for who will be two of the worst shooter at next years Quigley Match.

I have learned a lot since then and really like shooting paper patch bullets that we make ourselves. I have another Sharps on order in 45-90.. The first was a 45-70..

Thanks again for having me..

Yeh it's a sickness with those of us who are into these Sharps rifles. I have two Borchardts and a bunch of Shiloh 74's

RE: It's been quiet here
Steve,

No matter how you guys shoot you will look your best doing it with paper patch bullets! It sounds to me like you're doing thing the right way, buying a .45-70 for your first rifle and then getting a .45-90. That's the smart way. I could have saved myself a lot of time if I had started with a .45-70, but I had to do it the had way! If there is a way to have more fun shooting than with a Sharps at long range I never found it. Thanks for being had!
