RE: Got a call
Yeh but these converted Marlin 336's weigh about half what an original 95 Marlin, or 86 winchester weighed, and for the most part the 45-70 went obsolete around 1936, and while there was some ammo available for it, there weren't any commercially available rifles until mid 1970's

RE: Got a call
My .444 Marlin is a fine shooter but with its micro groove rifling it took a while before I found a bullet it likes.
But I think you made a fine choice with the .44-77. If The time frame would not be so long I would get a 77 in that caliber.
I like the feel of my 77 Axtel in the .45-2.6 but I haven't shot it at long range enough yet to see if it shoots better than the .74 .45-2.4.

RE: Got a call
There’s really not enough room for a 44 bn on the 77 action otherwise Kirk would of built me one
