A friend who is a former machinist stopped by to show me this cool vernier sight that was made by a machinist friend of his.
I thought the internal threads that allow the eye cup to climb the staff was neat. I was told they were made to fit commercial Sharps Borchardts. All processes were done by one man including the finishing.
I'm sure many have you have seen a few like this. I just never had so I wanted to share.

RE: Interesting rear sight
Hanz that Borchardt sight is an excellent one for target shooting ,especially when it's incorporated into a soul/windguage adjustable type sight.
The one that Parts Unknown/Red River sights used to market had elevation markings on both sides of the staff. Very handy to make elevation changes with as you did not have to break position , simply put your thumb against the side of the staff and push the adjustment screw the desired direction until your thumb touched the other side of the staff, that was approximately one minute elevation change.
A wise man can always be found alone. A weak man can always be found in a crowd.
I currently own 3 of these style sights made by Parts Unknown. The big difference is mine has the adjustment screw on top of the eye piece instead of on the bottom. 2 of mine are the long range Soul and the one is the Mid range. They are not perfect but I felt that for the price they were a good choice. I have found them to be easy to operate and have finer adjustments than other sights do. They also have a Hadley style eye cup. The long range models probably offer up more elevation than most would need and the mid range seems to have enough for most shooting. My mid range is on a 38-55 and I have enough elevation to reach out to 1000 yards or so, and still have some sight left.
YMMV
