I don't have the beautiful scenic backdrop you guys have but we do have a blanket of white and it's still two below zero right now. I think it's time to dig out the ice fishing gear and head to the Mississippi Smile

We got another inch of snow last night, and it's been snowing since daylight this morning. At least the temp has stayed fairly stable running from -5 to 3 above today.
Day before yesterday it was super weird, we were at zero around 10 pm then at 5 am it had warmed to 45, water was starting to drip from the eves, then it turned around and was back in the teens by 9 am and ended up below zero at 7 pm.

Man from zero to 45 and back down to the teens in a couple hours is strange. It's been cold here to minus 15 but back in the single digits during the day but I have seen 25 to 35 degrees below before here in past January's.

I just came in from clearing off the driveway and I made a pile of snow to see what alloy will hold the nose of my .40 caliber bullets for the new .40-65 rifle. I want to keep them as soft as possible because the rams fall sort of slow with the hard bullets I shot last fall.
My fingers still hurt Smile I guess I cant take the one degree temp I was out in and the wind made it worse.

Fortunately we haven't had much for wind in this cold snap. But the bad news is when this cold front does decide to move the wind will probably get a bit nasty.

Glad to hear your report Don. Thought I was losing it, or the truck was. Friday at 1:30 PM it was 53 in town. Got back to the ranch (less than 10 miles) at 4:20, it was 13! Then yesterday I ran out to our place (near Smithmoor Range or 15 miles from home) it was 13 there. Drove home at 75 mph and it was up to 47 here. Good grief, told Cathy the world might be ending.

Steve you know things are all scrambled up when it's warmer in Rawlins and Laramie than it is here. LOL

Jim, they can get testy when the kids are napping. Have to remind them sometimes "this is Northern Idaho". But being a grandfather of seven and valuing naps I try and be considerate.
