Starline brass

I find with my new batch of 45-90 Starline cases that a sized GG bullet won't slip in an annealed, clean, once-fired case. The case has NOT been sized, yet. Original length was 2.395 and still is.
Twenty years ago, when the barrel was fitted to the rifle, the g'smith said it was a tight chamber, but over the years, I haven't had any problems with Starline cases. Inspection of the chamber tells me there's nothing going-on there.

Shouldn't a sized GG bullet slip-fit into a fired case?

Did you measure the ID of the case mouth?
What is the dia of the bullet in question?

bullets are GG, 0.458 @ 20:1 alloy.. Inside case mouth dia. of fired case is 0.459, wall thickness is 0.011 at case mouth. Could it be the brass just needs to fired a couple of times in order to be flexed? Possibly with time the cases will remain more "open" when fired? And all cases are annealed before firing the first time.

Why not just run a .458" expander into the case?
Who did the annealing?
Have you chamfered the inside of the case mouth?

I have had new brass that had been annealed shrink after firing,just run an expander in and shoot , it will soon quit being so tight.

Jim I just got 300 new .40-65 Starline cases and they all came with a tight neck. The whole case would fall in my very tight chamber with out sizing and it will just except a bore diameter PP bullet. I shot all 300 cases and they have changed very little inside volume that I can get one grain more in the case then the unfired case.
I'm not going to anneal this brass.
