RE: Gunlaker
Yessir!
I put them on my 23" MVA scope last year. It was pretty easy to do, but there were a couple of gotchas. First is that the rib on the MVA scope was on the top, but the DZ mounts want it on the bottom so you have to turn it upside down. I use a centerless mil dot so if I didn't want that to be upside down, I had to remove the reticule and flip it. That's pretty easy to do though. Second is that I had to put much taller scope blocks on. I don't remember the height of the MVA std rear block, but I went to a 0.375" rear on my Borchardt. This means no more shooting at under 200 yards. The closest I shoot for practice is 200m and I use 0.010" elevation. For 1000 yards in Byers I used about 0.358" and Phoenix about 0.383" depending on the time of day of course.
There were only 2 problems I have run into so far. First was that the scope didn't slide as nicely as it used too. Eron told me to look for a burr in the front mount on the cop that rides the rib. He was pretty much correct as I had to clean that up with a small grinding stone.
The second problem only occurred after I had used it for a while and I noticed it by accident. When I slide the scope back after shooting it, the windage knob rotates as the scope tube moves! This bit me on day one once or twice at Phoenix. I happened to mention it to Dave Gullo and he said "did you tighten the screw in the rear mount?". I said "what screw?" :-) :-). Well that fixed it perfectly.
I really like the mounts a lot, but wonder if I should have stuck with the MVA front mount.
I noticed that Kenny had a 23" MVA on his Tollofson rifle but had swapped in a B5 rear mount. This might also be a good thing. It doesn't have quite the elevation range as the DZ mount though.
