Podcast about BPCR
One of the other rifle sports that I have a lot of respect for is Precision Rifle. For those that don't know, it is long range shooting at various targets using modern rifles and technology. Those guys are doing some amazing things and are true riflemen. The "voice" of the precision rifle world is a gentlemen by the name of Kirk Young and he runs Precision Rifle Media. Kirk asked me to come on his weekly podcast and visit about BPCR shooting. We had a great time and hopefully I did an ok job representing our sport to the Precision Rifle crowd. It was unscripted and I had to talk off the cuff about a bunch of stuff. I know I probably got some details wrong, but all in all I thought I did ok. It was a tough job so please don't be too critical. If anyone is interested in listening, the podcast can be found at

Very well done Cody.
I do want to question you about the smaller flash hole. I do have a .060 flash hole swage die but have not got improvement so far.

Cody, I listened to the whole thing last night. Great job. You covered a lot of good info in a short time.
Maybe sometime we can get him here to the house and let him shoot everything from the 22's to 1000 yards. Sort of set the hook and reel him in. Smile

I am always amazed by the different and ideas and opinions that different shooters have. Two guys with vastly different ideas on how to make their guns work often stand on the line against each other in shootoffs. I would say, however, that most of the shooters that are finishing in the top part of the matches are either doing pistol primers, paper wads, or swaging flash holes. I have not done enough experimenting to say that it absolutely helps or is necessary, so any information you have from some of your tests would be most interesting.

Very well done Cody! The sport needs more of this type of PR. During my years of outfitting I introduced a lot of people to Sharps rifles and BPCR. It was fun to see some return with their own Sharps rifles in following years hunts.
