Well she fried them up and it wasn't bad. The guy that did the filleting done a bang up job, no bones to contend with. Don't know as I'ld go specifically fishing for them, but wouldn't throw one back..

No they don't have the bones like a wally or northern. The filets pretty much bone free..
I have just throne then in the hot coal campfire with out cleaning them and pull them out and break them open and eat from the ribs down to the skin.

They sure put up a fight. She got both them on a rattling rap , sort of a light blue color while we were trolling trying to entice some walleye to bite.

On the Mississippi fishing for walleyes I like to use a 3/8 OZ jig depending on the current with about a 3" life minnow. They like to hand low on top of the wing dams or just slightly behind. Or a ground bouncer with a 3' trailer behind the bouncer. very effective in the river.
Most that fish using lures unless they are deep divers will say they aren't biting today

If anyone is having trouble removing all the bones in northern pike go here www.gf.nd.gov for an excellent video and verbal description of the process. Click on fishing then scroll down the contents until you find the topic about bone removal in pike.

That is a good one. He cleans them like I do. Getting out the Y bones makes eating the Northern and walleyes a good eat.
The place I used to go for Northern was the UP Michigan in the back waters of Dollar Bay. You would hook on some big 35" plus logs that would bend a hog pole into horseshoes and drag your 16' john boat like it had a 5 horse motor on it Put a 1/0 hook on the line bait it with a big smelt and hang on
