2nd Amendment under attack; make no mistake about it
"It is not a slippery slope to the confiscation of guns", Mr. Obama, 1/5/16 From what I gather the executive action will now make it illegal for private sales of firearms even within families! Crocodile tears and all this may be the strongest attack on gun ownership yet! I am renewing my NRA membership at this minute. Hopefully this will charge up the conservative base enough to help in the next election.

Rick, History shows it if one would check the past that when ever the libs had the Whitehouse and Congress the people have lost some of the freedoms they had. Not just Guns but also public lands and controlling everything else.
This Country was started as a Republic and it has progressively changed to a Democracy and sliding into socialism.
Ask yourself why don't they teach the American History like they used to and why don't they require the 8th graders to pass the Constitution test before they graduate into High School like they used to require.

Believe me when I say this business is very hard to stomach even from a down under convicts point of view. The gradual erosion of all things implying freedom or even freedom of choice is something that is happening across the board. To look on and watch this overt attack on some of the foundation of your country is scary. Socialism...almost borderline dictatorship really. No doubt any further restriction of firearms and or firearms owners will be waved in our faces in our 'non biased' national news down here for all to see and those without a real clue when it comes to guns and gun crime, will jump onto the bandwagon and say we need further restriction.. or really prohibition. I guess thats the real issue for us..and likely you guys, is that we know one restriction leads to another ...then another ..and so on..and so forth. Its interesting to note that any positive firearm issues never..or very rarely make it to the news but any negative press gets 24hr coverage and print space in the papers. No agenda ? ...I'm sceptical. As you rightly said Kurt, its not just firearms either. Of course, as we seem to be regularly reminded by some facets of our own country... we have privileges... not rights ! Seems the iron has rusted away but the chains remain Huh. I'm sure I'm not alone when I wish you all the best in coming years to hopefully rectify some of the impositions laid down and to halt further inroads to your rights, constitution and way of life.
