RE: What have you got?
Hey, I play the Contender game. My frame is an original non-easy open frame that has since been converted by TC to easy open. Let's see, I have a 14" 223 barrel with a 3X9 rifle scope on it, a 10" 30 Herrett barrel with a 4 power Simmons handgun scope, a 10" 22LR barrel with open sight for Hunter Pistol silhouette, and a 10" 7mm TCU barrel with open sight for long range silhouette. Enjoy them all!
Oops, forgot one. Also have a 22 Hornet barrel with a 4X rifle scope for Hunter Pistol. Shot a 35 with it this weekend.

There's a cure for that. Just visit a gun shop and I bet they can hook you up!
Did you ever find a silhouette range closer to you?

RE: What have you got?
Lumpy, I just now saw this topic, and I apologize for not seeing it much sooner. Anyway, I have a .50 cal. ML pistol w/ a 12" barrel made by Kahnke Gun Works in Minnesota. It has Millete sights and Herreit grips (I hope I have these 2 names correct), and it is a heavy pistol. It is also drilled/taped for scope mounts should a shooter want that option. I shoot it mainly w/ a .495" patched rd. ball, but it also shoots well w/ a .451" jacketed pistol bullet in a Modern Muzzleloader sabot. I use 40 gr. 3Fg w/ the rd. ball and it is good to 75 yds. or so; w/ the .451 pistol bullet it is good to over 100 yds. If I crank the rd. ball load up to 60-70 gr. 3Fg, it really has some snap to it. I have shot it w/ a 335 gr. LBT-LFN cast lead .451 bullet w/ 80 gr. 3Fg, and that's about as much fun as one wants to have w/ a pistol. Nevertheless. it is a fun gun to shoot to be sure.
Regards
IR

RE: What have you got?
Didn't notice this was an old thread until Ironramrod mentioned just noticing it. Anyway, here is my list.
Contender: Two frames and barrels in 22 Hornet, 25-20, and 300 Whisper rimmed.
Encore: 350 Rem Mag (not as bad to shoot as one might expect, actually kind of a hoot).
BF in 22 LR
MOA in 22 LR and 6 PPC
Two Anschutz in 22 LR
XL with a 22 LR barrel and a 270 Max barrel.
I used to shoot a lot of handgun silhouettes and I like single shots.

RE: What have you got?
Nothing wrong with old posts, just like with old guns and and us old farts! Some of you guys have stuff that I haven't even heard of. As for me, just old Single Shots: 32-30, 32-40, 38-55 and 45-70. All with plain 'ole sporting sights, except for one with a vernier medium range tang sight. All can put 3 shot group in the bullseye at 50 yards, and even further out, when I can see the target.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is.
