BACO 535gr paper patched Money Bullet 45-70
After testing the Sagebrush PJ Money Bullet with 3fg OE, I tested the BACO Money bullet patched to .451 in the Shiloh 74 Roughrider. Winchester brass neck sized only. Brass length @ 2.100. (A few cases measured 2.997-98 and I picked up just the slightest hint of a paper ring on a few fired cases). Federal Large Pistol primer with a .005 note card primer wad. 80.0 grs of 1.5 Swiss weighed. .060 BACO Poly King wad and a 1/8" cork wad compressed. Bullet seated .200 and slight taper crimp with a Lyman taper crimp die to just snug the bullet in the case. I wiped with 1 damp and 1 dry patch making sure the chamber was dry. Shot some sighters and made a few adjustments on my sight. Group went 1 7/8" wide by 2 1/2 high. 5/9"s (three touching), 2/8's and 1/8 out by 1" due to bad sight alignment. Will run this load again later this week. The addition of the cork wad seems to work well. It really was a great day on the range.
