August 20, Saturday, 22 Silhouette match

22 Silhouette matches will begin about 10 AM depending on the target visibility. After the silhouette match, we will have a 22 target rifle match on paper targets.

22 Silhouette is open to all 22 LR rifles. The only requirement is that they be loaded one at a time single shot fashion. Silhouette targets are shot as follows. off hand chickens, 50 meters, any position pigs, 100 meters, any position turkeys, 150 meters, any position rams, 200 meters. Most folks shoot the any position targets prone with cross sticks. We shoot unlimited sighters on swingers and then go for score, 10 shots for record in an 8 minute time period.

Our target rifle match is shot any position at 100, 150, and 200 meters. We shoot unlimited sighters on small gongs and then go for score, 10 shots on paper in an 8 minute time period.

We look forward to seeing you at our matches.
Found these on the "net" the other day, so I ran some off and give them a try at our weekly community indoor shoot and dinner. Might be a way for folks to keep their hand in the game waiting for the matches to get fired up. Shot at 50 ft, the sight picture is really close to what it is on the real range.

Carol P 2 5 4 5 1 17

We shot 8 shots at each of 5 targets. We started at the longest range and worked our way back. When we got to the last target, we were so warm we decided not to move over to the off hand target and instead shot an 18 inch circle at 400 yards. The target was painted white with a small black dot in the middle. No one could see it well but we shot it anyway. There will be another buffalo gun match on the weekend of September 26-27. I'll have an exact date when it gets closer. Thanks to all who came out and shot.
