I couldn't figure out why he did that when he had such a nice start. I cant hear the audio so I don't know if he is doing any explaining. Maybe he was demonstrating using a air side grinder could be used for that.
Going through more sites paging down there is a video of making a round ball mould that is interesting too.

If you go to u tube and put in a search for making moulds and cherries you will get some pretty good ideas.
I gave up on my Sheldon Lathe and I think I will part it out and start with a new one. I miss making things with the lathe. I looked at the Grizzly Gun Smiting Lathe on line and I think I will make a trip down to the outlet store and look at it.
