Klaus, Welcome! I like what you did to your rolling block; nicely done. I didn't see where you mentioned the caliber of your rifle, but judging from the loads you're using it looks like a .45/70. An excellent caliber to be sure, if that is correct. As long as you asked, try increasing your powder charges for both those bullets to see if your groups get smaller for you. Most of these guns perform best w/ close to full throttle loads. I typically shoot 75 gr. Goex 2fg or KIK 2fg in the .45/70 w/ those bullets, and 80 gr. w/ a PJ money bullet or a BACO pp bullet. Try increasing some loads in 2 gr. increments and keep good records of methods and results; your rifle will tell you which load(s) it likes the best.

Your sight combination is a good one and especially for hunting. Most competition shooters prefer vernier tang sights and hooded front sights w/ interchangeable inserts w/ different sight patterns (e.g. apertures, 4 plex, pinheads, posts, etc.).

`m sorry to forget some info about the Caliber.
Yes it is a 45-70 .
Due the lack of longer Distances as 100 meters and no access to hunt my decision was to have a 45-70 and i`m very pleased with it.
I like opensights and Blade fronts but must admit that a hooded globe front will deliver a better sight picture on target.
For 100m the Frontblade will work well but i will participate on a 300m competition in September and they have a Bucket made of Zinc reduced to 5.5 to 4.7 inches.
I`m afraid that the Blade will cover the whole Bucket at this distance an i ll be not able to /see hit him.
KIK Powder is my new choise but we have no FFg ònly Fg and FFFg.
( seems to be that all FFg are gone to the States)
Due to my Opinon the Fg with 65 - 70grs. compressed by 0,196 inch are the better option as FFFg ?
currently i load 63 grs. FFFG by 0.078 inch compression for the next practical run.

Klaus--Welcome aboard. The roller looks very nice with the work you have done.

I shoot KIK powder and in my 45-70 rifles, I use 3f. Depending on the bullet, I may use as much as .495 of an inch compression, using a compression die to pre compress the powder before seating the bullet.

I have KIK in 1f, 1 1/2 f, 2f, and 3f. I use 2f in my 45-110 and 45-90, and 3f in the 45-70 and 40-65. You are not handicapped with your 45-70 by not having 2f available. I think you will find the 3f will work much better in your 45-70 than the 1f. Shoot straight, rdnck.
