One thing you might try is patching to nearer bore diameter----------0.448 in a 0.450 bore is a nice hunting load to allow "dirty" reloading. Ultimate accuracy is achieved with the tighter bore fit and so better allignment and a clean bore--wipe and dry after each shot with the paper patched bullets.

These are simply my findings from my paper patch work-----i folllowed these guidelines learned form much better shooters than i am----------the results have been cartridges that perform better than the operator.

Have another try---its fun to learn

Hi Dave,

i read your posts about PPB carefully and would like to follow your advise to patch closer to borediameter. Have you ever resize a patched Bullet to a given diamenter saying .452 to 450 ?
i`ve been afraid that if i patch one turn more i receive .452 or even more.
My Barrel has a Bore about .450.

I resize some 8mm PPB for my Gewehr 88 from .325 down to .321.
not sure if the paper will be in a ggod condition after this procedure because is shines smooth like glass you know what i mean?.
