Klaus I resize the case before seating the bullet, that way there's less chance of ringing the patch.
You can tell if you're getting to much tension on the patch at the case mouth by pulling some of your bullets and checking the patch. If you see the ring/cut at the case mouth, then you can be assured you're looking at trouble when you fire them.
