Don, Congrats, that's a really nice boat, and it has enough creature comforts in it to make an enjoyable day or 3 on the water for you and your bride. Crestliner has a good rep for a quality line of boats, and they stay up on new improvements; good choice. It's big enough w/ ample power to get you back to the boat ramp safely in case the wind gets ugly. Big water gets really lumpy on the windy days; but, then you already knew that. You will really like the Merc 90 4 stroke motor, too; I see a fair number of those on the water here. Really easy on gas, lots of power, quiet, and no smoke; can't beat a deal like that.

And what better way to get started than catching some fish to go along w/ the boat ride.

This thing also has the 25 inch transom so getting slapped in the backside by a wake coming in isn't as much of a threat as it can be.
We've had the waves come up so fast and so hard over on Greyrocks that the prop on our old 18ft starcraft would come out of the water when we crested over That's not the time to hear the old Golden Shark 40 stark to studder.
I think I'll add a trolling plate to this motor for next year to slow down the trolling speed.
