Paper Patch question

Not marketing hype. It was what they determined was necessary for good shooting. Remington did not load a grease cookie or a wad ,the way Sharps did.

Or maybe they had the same problem as I did. Remington had a lot of rounds with bottlenecked cases and not using a lube wad makes that dry paper grip the case neck and the results are case neck separation. Putting a lube wad in the case or using a little lube on the patch reduces that problem.
I get a little case stretching with straight wall cases not using lube, but it's a bigger problem with the bottle necks.
Just a thin coating of oil or Vaseline eliminates that problem for me.
I think maybe Remington did away with the lube wad to increase the powder capacity.
