Matches by comparison to the Desert International event may become mired in controversy, varying rules, gotta have a certain spotter, oh you have me in the wrong class or category, need a certain firing point, questions of local/national membership to compete, etc. Not so at the Desert International. There the emphasis is on a high quality long range shooting experience on high quality targets at the best range in the world . It is less a structured match than it is a high quality shooting experience that is designed to provide fun and enjoyment to the shooter. Where the rifleman can interact and learn from some of the best of their contemporaries in the world. The emphasis is to have a good time and enjoy the shooting. Think of Mark Schuenke's performance last week as a demonstration of what was possible at that time and place for the benefit of those in attendance. While I fall short of classifying him as Professor Mark that is not far from accurate. He is, after all, a Legend of Lodi.
