Got to checking some on the 45-70 case I fired in the 44-77 chamber. It looks like it got about .025" or so shorter, it also blew out a bit more than the once fired 44-77 cases do. I judge this by the case holders I made for a Wilson case trimmer. The first one I made came out a wee bit big yet it fits the rem nickle case just fine but is too big for the 44 case. So I am thinking the 45 cases are a lot thinner then the Jameson 44 cases. I guess thats not really a bad thing in the long run. The pic shows the 44-60, formed 45-70 and a fired 44-77 case.
