RE: .44-77 and paper patch?
Don,
I'm not afraid of using paper patch in a standard gg chamber. I know that will work with a well designed 2-diameter ppb.
Do you have a reamer/chamber drawing of the 7* chamber. What makes it capable of handling both bore diameter ppb and groove diameter gg bullets? I need to wrap my brain around that.
Eric is using that chamber in his .44-77 I believe? Who else is using it and to what effect?
I am unlikely to get a redo on this .44-77 so whatever chamber I go with has to have a high probability of working well with paper patch. Right now that is the standard chamber. I am open to other ideas, but I'd have to see an advantage in some other design before I would be convinced to go that way.
I'd like to hear from you guys who are shooting ppb in a standard Shiloh .44-77 grease groove chamber! Is it working for you?
Early next week I have to box everything up and send it out. It would be best to have what I want done written down and send it along and even better to NOT go changing things after they have the rifle for rebarreling.
I have no idea how long it will take to get done and the waiting will begin. I'll have a lot of time to think about things, but I don't want to go changing the call in the middle of the play.
