RE: reloading 45-70 government
In the past I have loaded smokeless for the 45-70. I have a Marlin, modern one, and a custom Bold Action. I have used Remington brass for both and have not had any problems. For the Marlin I use a 300 gr bullet and a moderate load. The exact details I would have to go and look up as I still have some of those loads here some place. They shoot well and kill very well. For the bolt action I use a 350 Gr round nose bullet at about 2000 fps. Yes it gets the job done very well. Probably a bit on the heavy side for Eastern White Tail deer but hey it works and I didn't have to chase it.
I don't have any experience with the Leverevolution brass as I have a bunch of the Remington. For my BP loads I use Winchester, that way things don't get mixed up.
