thank you for the link to "modern american rifles" written in 1891.
this is of interest, as it was written about the end of the bpcr era and when smokeless was about to happen.
thus it was at the time of most development in bpcr.
an interesting quote from pp 289/290.
the author stated that for military and hunting use the gg bullet had generally supplanted the pp bullet but
"for target shooting with a match rifle,in most cases where fine shooting is done, the patched bullet is oreferred."
some of us know this to still be the case today.
a quote from p 278 illustrates how language has changed.
speaking of the tribulations that can be encountered by a new caster with a new mould
"a new bullet mould will often cause a good and calm man to ejaculate"
