Jim, when you say long range, are you thinking beyond 1,000 yards ?

The 44-100 will pretty much do what the 45-110 will do out to 1,000 yards, but, as far as Target Rifle Shooting the 2.4 cases will do it just as well if not better under high heat and low humidity conditions.

Shooting past 1,000 yards the longer cases should have an advantage. I don't shoot past 1,000 so I can't really advise you on that.
