Kurt had mentioned my patch on one of my 40 cal bullets in a previous thread was short and could possibly cause some leading issues. After reviewing why the patch was short with having the same amount of the base covered (30%) and all the patches the same length. I was prompted to measure the length of the bullet,lo and behold I had a myriad of different lengths, short ones medium one and some really long ones over 400 grs. I had cleaned and lubed the mold with Kroil before these were cast.It appears my "adjustable" mold was self "adjusting" during the casting cycle.

I know I had set it to my 360 gr. length the plug was bottomed out,was pretty sure I tighten the nut enough, obviously not so. I have added a lock washer and will melt all these down and start over. This is I am confident why accuracy has been poor.
