RE: Any reason not to try this paper
I have 5 box's of this paper 8.5" X 11" and 3 box's of legal size Plover, I had been told that it was good paper for patching bullets.I bought every box they had for $2.00 a box. I just didn't do my math right when ordering the mold and it was an expensive mold.I just wet patched a handful of 1.135 long 360 gr. bullets and dried them on a hot plate I am getting a very nice slip fit in the case resized with RCBS dies the Redding dies size the case down to small, fire formed brass is to big.All brass is 2.5" chamfered Captech and RMC.I set the Redding dies for the RMC brass to give the perfect tension for a nice slip fit and not fall out.
As has been pointed out they are bit to fat to chamber with thumb pressure.BTW this is a 40-70 SS. Thinking mold # 5 for this rifle is in my future, really want to make the paper patch work. What size mould should I use and if you gentlemen were buying a mold for this rifle what are your recommendations ? Thank you all for your time.
