Jim, my .45-70 is a 34" hvy. bbl. Shiloh, Hartford and my .45-90 is a 30" hvy. bbl. Shiloh, #1 Sporter.
The '90 runs about 105 fps faster than the '70 using the same PJ #45001 bullet(30:1). I load both with 3F Goex. CCI br2 primer.
The '70 gets R-P brass(annealed each loading)and the '90 sees Starline that is also annealed each loading. Both get FL sized.
