Rick I have a .44 mould like it I bought used but it casts a bad bullet with heavy parting line fins. Someday I will drive the pins out and see if I can face it off so it closes better so it does not make fins. I mostly use it for cores for the swaging die I have for the .45. The swage die is a straight shanked bullet and it shoots very good. Using the bad .44 tapered and run it through the swage die makes it easy to reform it.
The KAL mould would cast better if Rick would use a sprue plate with a smaller hole. That mould is vented very good and casts better running it cool so you don't get vent hairs. I have a KAL .434" elliptical I use in the .44-75 Ballard and the .44-100 Rem and I have not found a bullet that shoots better then that, but I had Rick make a special sprue plate for me with a small .100" hole and it does a fine job.
