Sorry about the hijacking. Bad habit of mine, but the no fouling control has a lot of different opinions, you can and you cant.
I will say one more thing on this subject. After posting this I went to the range this morning with my Marlin .45-70 cowboy rifle and some old loads with the Pope bullet (Lyman 121PH ) to get a no wind zero see how much up the notches on the barrel sights will make holes in the cardboard at 100 yards for next years lever gun matches. I just took 20 rounds with 68 gr of 3F OE they where loaded with. I loaded 8 rounds and got the no wind for the 100 yard line and shot a bunch more to get the rear barrel sight elevations and round 18, 19 and twenty cut all three holes for 20 rounds fired. @0 shots should have fouled the throat but I could not feel any difference the way the rifle performed.
It would be interesting to shoot with using a tang sight.
