On the Mississippi fishing for walleyes I like to use a 3/8 OZ jig depending on the current with about a 3" life minnow. They like to hand low on top of the wing dams or just slightly behind. Or a ground bouncer with a 3' trailer behind the bouncer. very effective in the river.
Most that fish using lures unless they are deep divers will say they aren't biting today Smile
