Problem rifle

Kurt--Take that rifle to a vetenarian and have him X ray the stock. If there is an internal crack or flaw inside the stock where you can't see it, you will get renegade harmonics and big groups. Also, take the lock out and check to see if the mainspring is rubbing on the inside of the lock plate. My Roughrider needed .015 taken off the side of the mainspring before it quit rubbing on the lockplate. I have had both issues on my Sharps.

I just had a similar problem with a CPA. The mainspring was rubbing on the wood. Gail at CPA diagnosed it in about five minutes by email. A couple of hours later I had it working like a clock. You could even feel the difference in resistance when cocking the hammer.
