I'm hearing you Mr Mulhern but there were none to observe hereabouts at the time and I clearly hadn't read enough at that stage either ( too busy looking at the pictures ). The electric fence did hurt..but I've no desire to pee on it a second time.
As for not passing on the method I used for loading at the time , is frankly I can't control what someone else does with the information I've given them. I can't even guarantee they've taken my meanings the correct way. I thought I followed someone else instructions years ago and had an accident. It was a $5000 AU gun when it landed here and cost me $1000 AU to fix it a few months later. Had I done more of my own research and a little testing and not been in such an 'all fired up' hurry, this wouldn't have happened. This is just my feeling but I can't see a reason to use any filler or wadding in a 40/65 or 45/70 with smokeless as a moderate load occupies enough of the case anyway. As for the bigger cases.. well.. they are bigger for a reason and its not to fill them or even half fill them with a nitro/cellulose propellant.
