Hi Klaus:

Yup Comanche territory for sure------------artifacts are found all over the "Hill Country" of texas.

White Tail deer are the primary game hunted in the hill country-----in some places deer populations approach 1 deer for every 10 acres.

That area of the state was settled primarily by german and czech immigrants--------some of the ranches are still held at least in part by decendents of those immigrants----sadly i don't have data on where the original immigrants lived in Germany

On the Shiloh forums you can see some original letters for purchase of sharps rifles discribed----------several of those letters came from this general area.

I'll dig around a bit mor i believe i have some pics of the Grapetown Range
