Only one time I wish I had a rod with me. It was on a Buffalo hunt up in ND. with my .44-90bn Hartford where I scrwed up having two different loads in my pocket. One tight and one loaded for a follow up shot if needed. Well I reached in the wrong pocket and got a tight one and it would not chamber and I didn't carry a cartridge camming tool either. But when it was all done I didn't need a second shot because he staggered about 50 yards and dropped.
But it could have been a different story.
You maight never use it, but it sure is nice when you need it, it's there.

Kurt

Kurt, Yes, having something you don't need is far, far better than needing something you don't have! Shoot sharp, Mike
