Need some sugestions

Kurt, just taking a guess here but I would think that the extractor on all of the CPA actions would be at 6:00. Also took a look at my CPA and it looks like the top of the hammer nose can be lowered some if you need some case rim clearance. Mine has the high speed hammer with recesses on both sides and I don't know if lowering the nose would cause any strength problems or not.
My rifle is a 38-55 with a 15" twist badger barrel on it and it shoots well. I have a mid range site on it and was surprised that I was easily able to reach 1000 yds with it and still had sight left. I can't say how well it shot at that range as I was just shooting off of my elbows and was all over the place, I was just impressed that the bullet got out that far. I was shooting a NEI postel of about 315 gr or so over 47 gr of Ctg. I have a Hoch mold that throws a 300 gr tapered bullet that seems to shoot very well. When I got to try that bullet I just sat it on top of 45 gr Ctg and had no problems keeping 10 out of 10 on the pig swinger. Now I was all over the swinger but a hit is a hit. I think a little more load development and that would be an excelent chicken/pig load. It may also make for a good long bullet for the turkeys and rams if the bullet were lengthened by another band and grease grove and get the weight up to around 340 or so. Just something to think about for the future I guess.
