A Shooter
I bulk shoot 30-30 & 30-06 but included the .223 so time ago. I’m loading pull down WC844 & Hornady 55 grain FMJ bullets so not a target load.

I have a nice lot of Federal & PMC brass.

RE: A Shooter
My rifle is nothing fancy, a 700 Remington in a plastic stock which I replaced with a real wood BDL. My gunsmith installed pillars & bedded everything.

The range

The scope is an old K-10 Weaver from the 70s. Checked the sighting first 2 shots at 25 yards, 1 shot at 50, & 5 shots at 100. Not too bad for a junk load.

RE: A Shooter
I switched bullets to the Sierra 52 grain HPBT & 25 grains of the same pull down WC 844 & a Wolf SRM primer. Here’s a couple 200 yard targets.

From there to 300 for 2 each 4 shot targets.

RE: A Shooter
Lyn that sure shows some promise. Looks like a little tinkering with the load might pay some big dividends.[/u]

RE: A Shooter
Don the rifle did better than I thought. I'm going back out tomorrow but the loads will all be with the Hornady FMJ. The barrel must be rough though as I can't quite get it clean.

Lyn have you tried any of the Montana Extreme Copper Killer? That stuff is pretty potent.

Best I can get from my M&P 15 with a 16" barrel and 26gs of Varget under a 55g Hornady fmjbt is 7/8" at 100yds. Doesn't seem to make any real difference if I crimp or not. dK

Whats your bbl's ROT?
If you can find any H-335, try 25 gns. w/55gn fmj. Both of my AR's love that load

Yuppers looks like you got something collecting copper in there...Dodgy

Wonder if you went after that bore with some fine steel wool wrapped on a brush and soaked in 3n1 if it would polish up a touch.
