Case cleaning

I used to wash my cases then dry and run thru the vibratory cleaner using corncob and Brasso.
Then I got a Thumblers with the ceramic.Works alright, but getting all those little ceramic hunks out of the cases is sometimes a real pain in the hindguarters.
Then along came a Hornady ultra sonic. What I have found with it is if I wash the bp fired cases first then put them in the ultrasonic with a generous dab of the special sauce they come out really clean altho maybe not to shiny after running two cycles. So I've been doing the ultrasonic and then a hour in the corncob and those case's come out looking like new.

Don, I do the wash and tumble too, using the tumbler and ceramic media from Shiloh.
I have had no problems getting the media out of the cases using the rotary seperator sold buy Dillon.

I now use ceramic media for all of my case cleaning. Cleanest cases inside and out I have ever used(except brand new cases).

Been wondering how one of those rotary seperators might work.. The old shaker pan isnt' very efficient.
You ever pop the action open after firing a shot and have a smokey burnt looking ceramic pellet come rolling out?

NOPE.
The Dillion works very well for this.
Also, the cases come out looking like polished gold(inside & out).
I do a "MK1 eyeball" check on any/all bottle neck cases, BTW.
I do use the smaller size Dave Maurer(sp?)media on smaller cases.
You can PM him via Shiloh I think.
You just got to really wash/flush the media after use is all.

after tumbling, I dump brass and ceramic media into a colindar[sp], place in sink full of cold water to rinse everything off, drain sink and refill with cold water, I have found that ceramic will fall out of my .40-65 cases real easily while under water

I made a colindar to rinse the media out of the cases, but about the time things really starts to going good the media starts floating.... Think next time I'm around a Cabela's or Sportsmans Whorehouse I'll grab up one of those seperators.

my media is from Shiloh and it sinks in the "good Ole West Tennessee Water", some of you must be using bottled water, lol

Well, we do have some of the "hardest" tap water in the country here in the Mojave Desert.
I don't dilute my "drink'n water" one dang bit.........

Hard water ? perhaps a surfactant is in order ------------ alcohol might help ?
