RE: Shooting the mile
Sure it is about 2 inches to 2.25 depends on the bullet and MV.

RE: Shooting the mile
Ok thanks. I might have sight enough to do it then. The 44 shot a good bit flatter on the 1000 at Alliance than the 45-70's had in the past. Used about 15 minutes less.

Man that is quite a bit Don. Very good.

My .44-90 I can just make the 1K at Alliance with a mid range sight.
I will find out how the .45-70 will do at the 1K at Lodi this weekend.
It will be it's first ride Smile

Kurt I was tickled pink, 1.75 was as much as it took the first time out, ended up closer to 1.63. A midrange would of worked just ducky,,, that time, we'll see how close it compares at Byers on Sunday.

Don,

Thats 2 to 2.25 inches ABOVE YOUR 1000 yard SETTING.!!! So say 1.65 plus 2.25 inches. 3.65 to 3.85 sight setting. I tell most folks you will need 4 inches of usable staff Height.

I haven't had time to look at it today, but I think that C Sharps vernier has 4inches of usable staff.. Could always run Lee down and get one of those eyecup extentions he built for the mva's.
