Not the best day for load testing but it is what it is. Twitchy head winds, lots of light changes, and with the recent moisture loads of mirage.
600 yards shot from prone. 78 grains OE 1/2 single thin felt wad and my design dual diameter bullet from Brooks. Jamison cases, rp 2 1/2 primer.
Well Don, that is a nice round group around the center for 600 yards.
A little load development and get that shooter shot in it will be a winner for sure.
I like the caliber. It will stay with the larger shells.

Don,
I’ve often seen you refer to the use of OE powder. Do you have a stock of the old stuff or are they making it again?

When you get those lamps fixed you better get a pair of dark sunglasses LOL.
It's been over a month since they fixed mine and I still need to put them on when I'm outside LOL. But I can see the black dot now through the apertures !!! but they need more work this fall.

RE: Load searching for the 77
Yes both eyes got replacement. I got the clearance to get back to my regular things to do after the last eye three weeks later.
I got a lot of light flutter and still have some but they are getting better and I'm getting used to the outside in the sun light.
But I had to buy some $3. cheaters from Walmart for reading.
I shot the 1000 yard match at Lodi yesterday and never cut paper with 23 shots fired. Never seen the misses in the dirt to get on paper.
I should have sent a few over the corn field first to see the dust fly and getting a sight setting before shooting over wet ground.
The wind Gremlins were really doing there best for all shooters. Very low scores fired.
I got credit for 13 but they were not mine. LOL

RE: Load searching for the 77
I spotted for Matt on the first relay at the 1K and he did well holding steady in that wind. He missed the first shot but still ended with a 74.
His Wife Robyn shot the rifle for the first time that he just build for her and she is just starting to shoot and she was having a problem with sight adjustments. But the way she shot the 200 yard .22 match, watch out when she learns the sight adjustments.
I put the .38 away before finishing the relay and went to the Pitt.
