The Freezer and it’s lack of meat
2017 was a good year of killing. I ended up killing two antelope and a deer with a couple 50 Sharps, an 6 x 5 bull elk with a longbow and my oldest son put the smack down on a mulie buck with a 264 Win Mag.

My wife or one of the boys will go to the shop and bring meat up to the house freezer every week so when I went down to see how the supply was doing I had a wake up call! We are running really low on meat. Are we really going to need two elk this year and the same amount of antelope, and deer? I’m thinking so.

This year my second oldest son will be able to hunt along with his older brother and myself. This will probably be the turning point in my life where I do more mentoring then killing, which is fine with me. There is so much enjoyment watching your own kid hunt and be successful that the need for myself to make meat is secondary.

I will be putting in for tags this weekend. I wish you all a successful draw and many heavy packs of meat this fall.

We should know tomorrow whether or not we get licenses or a refund to the credit card on moose, sheep and wild bison.

Good luck on that Don. Wished I lived in Wyoming! Good to see you at Alliance.

Rick you probably stand a better chance of drawing one of those tags as a nonresident than I do, altho it would cost you considerably more. LOL

Yes it was good to see you at Alliance, maybe see you there for the Dean match in July?

Don, possibly. My Austrlian kids are coming home for a visit during that time frame.
I would like to make that one.
