Now mike that in my eyes is the perfect hunting rifle. Some day I will put a rod under my barrel.

Kurt, Along with that ramrod you'll need an extended cleaning jag. The rod is too short to completely wipe the bore, at least from one end. That's because of the lever spring underneath the forearm. But that's just a slight inconvenience... Some doin's otherwise! Shoot sharp, Mike

Thanks. That rifle was bought in 1980. I named the rifle "King David" after a young preacher "baptized" it following his first and only shot with it...

Longcarbine, that's just Shiloh's standard wood.

More eye candy 40/70SS.
Couldn't throw this wood away so put a badger barrel on it , refinished it planed 3/4 inch off the top of the cheek rest so I could get a cleaning rid in it. Lee Shaver squared everything up and chambered it with his reamer then reworked it to take captech brass for greasers and Hornaday brass for Paper patch. Call it my 2for 1 rifle
