Archery season under way
Well the 2015 archery season started for us on the 12th. Been out in the woods the past four days have put anything in the freezer yet but have seen lots. All total I have seen three turkey, a racoon, a opossum, more squirrels then I can count, and three doe(out of bow range). Tomorrow the base is closed for hunting but will be back out Thursday. This is my last season in NC so really wanting to put the big boy I have been stocking the past few years in my freezer.

Must be open around here. Lotsa car traffic about 4-5 AM this morning, must be stic&string time again or maybe they're just scoutin'.
That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it!

Best stalking Stephen, no greater thrill than stalking with a longbow sir

We have a couple days left in elk camp! I called in a couple spikes a few days ago and one of my partners layed him over at 40 yards. I called a 6x6 bull in for another friend and he missed at 52 yards. Of course that bull ran off and stood broadside to me at 50 yards, to long of a shot for the longbow Sad We called in a bull twice now that had a two foot club dropping down to his throat, he's a smart old bull. We had him at 68 yards once and a 100 yards last night. We walked in 5 miles today and found a small herd, we ended up walking another 3 miles only to lose them in the sage hills! This is typical elk hunting, not for the faint of heart Tongue

Moose are fun to hunt with a bow. I killed one with a bow when I was 18, he just missed P&Y by 1/8".

Stephen, wow, you are in the thick of things! Congrats on helping you fellow hunting buddies to success! Great pictures by the way.

Im headed to WY in a few days with bows and 44-77. Looks like unseasonably mild weather for the area between Jackson and Pinedale. Hope I find a few moose to pick from.

Thanks for sharing!
