Knockem stiff Jim!!
Dick nailed one with one fine brain shot exactly where it needed to be put and he was down before the wind cleared the smoke.
The look on his face was priceless when he looked back. Reading his lips I think he asked...did you see that???
Kurt
Dicks shot with Old Buffalo Gal at a little over 100 yards.......perfect placement..........it don't get no better. 45-110 PP. An extremely difficult shot. If I can figure out how I will post a video clip to the shot.

Gussy, Congrats on your buffalo, and the outstanding shot you made; nicely done. Can you provide us more info on loads, weather, etc.? If you don't mind I would also like to know, if you used your barrel sights and low power reading glasses, etc. that were discussed on the Shiloh forum?
Regards

Yes on the reading glasses and open sights. The rifle was a Shiloh 45-90, Std weight half round barrel, 90 grns of 1 1/2 Old E, 25-1 gov bullet, shot off long sticks from a standing position.
Weather was clear and warm, probably high 60's - low 70's, almost no wind.
We made a couple stalks before we were able to get an open shot. The herd, roughly 100 animals, were constantly moving in and out around the animals we wanted to shoot. The animal went down very quickly and no follow shot was needed. By the time he ran a short loop and back into the herd he was staggering and lots of blood was clearly seen.
Great hunt!!

Good job, Gussy. That's the way it's supposed to work when the rifle and load are set up correctly. Hit them in the right spot with that old 45 caliber Govt. bullet and they go down. Good shot and a very nice buffalo. Shoot straight, rdnck.

Everyone loves hunting. So I think every hunter needs to use hearing protection otherwise will suffer from noise-induced hearing loss. I am a shooter. I love hunting as well. I have participated in a lot of shooting competition. I always use custom electronic earplugs. custom earplugs will fit our ears and able to protect any noises. When I shoot guns and produce noises it will damage our hearing. I found a couple of websites that provide custom earplugs you can see them and know more information.
