Felt wads? - Gunlaker - 04-26-2014 I'd like to try some felt wads. There seems to be quite a few types of felt material out there. Are you guys are using natural fibers like cotton felt for instance? Is this something that I can run out to a fabric store and pick up? Thanks, Chris. RE: Felt wads? - Old Jim - 04-26-2014 You might find them there, but I got some from the Sagebrush folks. Seams like they had different styles to choose from. I never got around to tryin' them in any loads though .Jim RE: Felt wads? - Kurt - 04-26-2014 Chris The last felt I got was from this place. They have a nice assortment. I stopped at a hat makers shop and asked if he had any scrap I could have and he brought out a whole arms length of round brim trimmings of 20X Rabbit fur felt. I like it better than Wool felt. It cuts very good in the Cornell press wad punch. Stay away from the Acrylic felt. It don't like heat. http://www.best-price.com/search/landing/query/felt+sheet/s/yahoo/ RE: Felt wads? - Gunlaker - 04-26-2014 Thanks very much! Chris. RE: Felt wads? - Don McDowell - 04-26-2014 These are the ones I've been using. A bit spendy, but that dry lube impregnated into the material sure works good, and I do like the accuracy I'm getting with them in the stack http://www.midwayusa.com/product/2509115162/muzzle-loader-originals-shooting-wads-125-thickness-pre-lubricated-with-precision-lube-2000-felt-package-of-100 |
