Depends, this one was special order and I couldn't remember what twist I had requested whether 16 or 17,, looks like somebody split the difference. Should make a fine long range gun when we get all the hunks,chunks and pieces gathered into one spot.

I guess I will have to get the steel and flint out and build a fire under them to get that grinding job done. I don't know what the H is taking so long to get that done.
I called Krieger before taking off for Nebraska what the delivery time for a special order .44 barrel was and I could not get a definite time frame. So if you would send me the contact for the barrel maker that made yours. That 1/16.5 I think will be ideal for the .44.
I just got a call thursday from the 310 shot that he got my .44-77 sizing die finished for the 310 thong tool. That project started last Dec. 6th.

Did he make that sizing die to work with the standard handles or is it the full set? I saw on his site that he makes a dedicated set just for the 44-77. I just went and took a look at my handles and the 44-77 wouldn't leave much meat in the threaded areas of the dies and little part that guides the case.

Sam I don't know how this die will be made. The thick base of the .44-77 and 90 crossed my mind when I ordered the die but I figured he knew this because he has made them in the past.
I have two handles one old nickeled Ideal and one newer large tool.
I sent him a few fired cases and PP bullets and to;d him to make the die to fit then tight.

Kurt this barrel came from Oregon Barrel Co. Good folks to deal with and it didn't take long for this barrel to be built. When slugging it, after the slug got in about 6 inches it took little effort to slide it on thru, I'm thinking it's going to shoot very well.

I think I will call them tomorrow and get this going. I'm going with a SST with a straight tapered 1/16.5 ROT X 32" finished.
