Back to a normal winter - Kurt - 01-26-2014 WHo was the knothead we had global warming ![]() wind blowing a gale and snowing so hard I cant see 100 yards.Getting to a point that I will have to get the snow blower mounted cause I cant push it with the blade anymore. RE: Back to a normal winter - Don McDowell - 01-26-2014 we don't have any snow, but we got 20 degrees and 40 mph winds. plus I just got off the phone Zack Taylor called and going on about how nice it is down there in Azirona.
RE: Back to a normal winter - Kurt - 01-26-2014 It's been double digits below more than above here not counting wind chill. All this snow has been falling has been dry and powder the wind blows it one way and a hour or two blows it back the other way. Cant see the fence posts in a lot of places. The sun was out yesterday and I watched the wind blowing the snow in the fields and it looked like giant tidal waves rolling about 300 yards apart. Been a long time since we had a winter like this. Probably a lot warmer up north with the white bears. Kurt RE: Back to a normal winter - J.B. - 01-26-2014 Could do with some moisture down here. 89 F today with a low overnight of 59 F. Dry as a "dead dingoes d****r" around here. ... No snow either.
RE: Back to a normal winter - Kurt - 01-26-2014 It's going to get colder in the next two days. By Tuesday morning it will be down to -25 but the good news is the winds are dropping down in the teen with -40 wind chill. UPS delivered a box of oranges a couple days ago a friend send up from AZ and the driver left them down the hill by the mailbox in sub zero temp and didn't even give me a call. The drive was all clear too. If the wife wouldn't have been in town and saw them when she came home they would have been harder the next morning. RE: Back to a normal winter - Ironramrod - 01-27-2014 It's does resemble a real winter this year. Temps to -30*, winds to 65 w/ gusts >70. I don't think the snow really melts here; it just blows around until it finally wears out. Been plenty cold since October. It's a good thing we don't have a 40+ inches of snow on the ground right now to go w/ it or there would be blocked roads all over. Uff da. Regards RE: Back to a normal winter - Kurt - 01-27-2014 It took me over two hours to clear the snow this morning. I dont mind the snow to much but the -8 dont know what the wind chill was but it didn't take long to feel it coming through a couple layers of Carhartts. This was the last pass I can use the tractor with the blade, I will have to dig out the 6' snow blower from now on. It's just getting too deep. RE: Back to a normal winter - powderburner - 01-27-2014 send some of it this way would you , it is dry and dusty and 50 degrees here ,,, even the mountains are pretty bare , gonna be a dry summer, RE: Back to a normal winter - Kurt - 01-27-2014 I would gladly sent it to you. If your dry and the States around you are also that means Cal. will be a dust bowl this summer. It's going to make some wish they let people clean up some of the dead fall in the hills to keep the fires down. RE: Back to a normal winter - Don McDowell - 01-27-2014 Kurt if it makes you feel any better, it's 12 degrees here today.
