Finally it - Kurt - 05-30-2012 came ![]() This .44-100 st Rem PP reamer project started way back in Sept 2011 after having two reamers sent to me that were for a all together different then what I had ordered I canceled the order and went to a different company and re ordered. Well it made it home yesterday ![]() Checking the diameters the base is .0023 tighter then I ordered but I will give the reamer maker the benefit of doubt because I dropped my didgee mike on the concrete floor yesterday Now to get the 15# 35" .44 barrel fitted to a action and make some loading dies with this reamer for this Tollofson class rifle. RE: Finally it - Don McDowell - 05-30-2012 Will you have it ready in time for some test firing at the Quigley? RE: Finally it - drcook - 05-30-2012 Kurt, does you mic still have the mechanical markings or is strictly digital. if you screw it all the way in, tighten it up on a piece of paper and pull the paper out (which cleans the anvils) and then close it, it should read 0. you can also double check it on the shank end of the reamer. I will bet that reamer shank is 7/16 which should measure .4375. that will check you mics out. then also check the bore pilot against the size you specified. that should be good enough to tell if your mics are reading true. do you have a 1/2 dowel pin. a real one, not a wood dowel. a 1/2" dowel will measure .500 of course and will be close enough to check you mics at that spot also. dave RE: Finally it - Kurt - 05-30-2012 Don. Don't I wish!!!!!! RE: Finally it - Don McDowell - 05-30-2012 Well just spin the barrel off of something , chuck that bad boy biggun in your lathe, and let's geter done... RE: Finally it - Kurt - 05-30-2012 Don. If my lathe was running I would. I sheared a 1/2 moon key on the lead screw and made a mess out of the shaft.
